There are no lockers available for hire on the island, so The Operator suggests leaving any unnecessary valuables at home or your hotel.

Yes, the team will be able to assist you when getting on and off the catamaran. However, as space is limited onboard, they encourage you to pack light or use a baby carrier where possible. There are limited sealed pathways on the island that are suitable for prams.

No, the seats are not allocated, however there is plenty of room and seating on the large air-conditioned catamaran with three levels, including indoor and outdoor seating. 

It takes approximately 45 minutes to get to Fitzroy Island from Cairns.

The journey to Fitzroy Island is short, but even the most experienced sailor, at times, can get seasick. However, this is generally easy to prevent. You can take a medicated tablet called TravaCalm (not available to minors without parental supervision/consent) or natural ginger tablets. These can be purchased at the bar onboard the catamaran. 

Tablets are a prevention, not a cure, so The Operator recommends taking them as soon as possible to allow as much time for them to take effect prior to sailing. Alternatively, discuss the best option for you with your doctor or pharmacist.

Day visitors to Fitzroy Island have access to all of the island, with the exception of some facilities, which are reserved for in-house guests staying at the Fitzroy Island Resort. 

Day visitors to Fitzroy Island can hire beach and snorkelling equipment on arrival to the island, and there is a cafe and licensed bar available. You may take your own snorkelling equipment and food; however, alcoholic beverages are not permitted to be brought to the island.
