We love that you get to escape into the wild Tassie nature on this tour. You&#39;re only 20km from&nbsp;the city, but this trip takes you past epic caves, beaches and&nbsp;marine life which we think is pretty cool!

Roaring 40&#39;s Kayaking reserves the right to alter itineraries or cancel any tour prior to departure for any reason, including inadequate numbers and weather conditions. Rainfall is not considered dangerous conditions and Roaring 40&#39;s Kayaking will provide paddling jackets and PFDs for your comfort and safety. 
 
If in the unlikely event Roaring 40&#39;s Kayaking cancels your tour, you will be notified the morning of your tour and given the option of transferring to another tour or receiving a full refund. Please notify us immediately if it becomes necessary for you to cancel your booking. Our refund policy is outlined below. 
 
Cancellation policy for day tours and instruction lessons - A full refund, less a $20 administration fee per booking, will apply to any booking cancelled with more than 24 hours notice provided. - No refund will be given for cancellations less than 24 hours prior to tour departure or if you do not show up for the tour 
 
Cancellation policy for multi-day expeditions - Deposit is non-refundable - No refund for cancellations less than 1 month prior to departure We encourage our customers to purchase travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances.

Bring:&nbsp;Hat, sunglasses, water, comfortable quick-drying clothes&nbsp;suitable for the weather, shoes that can get wet (or we can supply you with a pair of wetsuit booties),&nbsp;change of clothes for the trip home.&nbsp;

The tour starts from and returns to Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre, Corner of Elizabeth and Davey Streets, Hobart.

There is also the option to meet at Taroona Beach, Taroona Crescent, Taroona (near the boat ramp).

Enjoy a relaxed day of paddling as you explore Hobart&rsquo;s&nbsp;diverse river and coast. The Derwent River is the perfect place to escape into nature and check out Tassie&#39;s landscape from the water! 
 
Your trip starts at 9 am and from there it&#39;s a day-long adventure of wildlife, water and natural&nbsp;beauty.&nbsp;You&#39;ll be just 20 km from the city, but&nbsp;floating past some of the most stunning natural views in the country will have you feeling like you&#39;ve escaped into natural bliss! 
 
Paddle amongst tranquil bays and beneath the&nbsp;lichen-covered Alum Cliffs and&nbsp;explore sea caves and beaches as you go. You&#39;ll be able to catch some stunning views of&nbsp;Bruny Island and discover the ocean paradise that is Storm Bay. 
 
Explore the incredible Tinderbox Marine Reserve and keep your eyes peeled for some of the wildlife that calls this area home. You might spot majestic white-bellied sea eagles, stingrays, seals and if you&#39;re lucky a pod of&nbsp;dolphins or a migrating whale. &nbsp;&nbsp; 
 
Once you&#39;ve worked up an appetite paddling, kick back on one of Tassie&#39;s pristine beaches and enjoy a delicious lunch. Local produce is on the menu which will immerse you even more in your Hobart experience.&nbsp; 
 
This full-day paddle is operated in a one-way direction, depending on the forecast wind direction. Transport to and from Hobart is included. 
 
It is a relaxed paddle but you do need to be fit enough to paddle for up to 4 hours over the day.&nbsp;It is suitable for beginners and children over 10 when accompanied by&nbsp;an adult. 
 
Departure time is 8am every Sunday (November to April).&nbsp;Duration is&nbsp;approximately 7 hours (with 4 to 5 hours of kayaking). 
Departure Point:&nbsp;Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre, Corner of Elizabeth and Davey Streets, Hobart OR&nbsp;meet us at Taroona Beach, Taroona Crescent, Taroona (near the boat ramp).&nbsp;During the COVID-19 pandemic we encourage you to meet us at Taroona Beach if possible to decrease your time spent in bus travel. &nbsp;Please bring a mask with you as masks are compulsory in our bus.&nbsp;

All participants are required to complete an Acceptance of Risk form prior to joining any Roaring 40&#39;s Kayaking tour. 
 
Please keep your nominated mobile phone switched on the evening prior to your tour and the morning of your tour in case we need to contact you. 
 
Please let us know if you have any preexisting injuries or medical conditions that may affect your ability to participate. If you need to bring medications with you we can carry them in waterproof bags. 
 
Sea Kayaking is an outdoor water activity and participants should expect that they may get wet. We recommend bring a change of clothes for after the tour. 
 
CAMERAS AND PERSONAL ITEMS 
You are welcome to bring along your camera and we will provide dry bags to keep it dry, but we do not take responsibility for any damage to cameras or other personal items (i.e. Mobile Phones, Sunglasses, Spectacles, Electric Car Keys Clothing, Wallets and Money etc) taken on our tours. Waterproof cameras and disposable waterproof cameras are ideal.

We do not share this information with any third party and we will not identify your credit card details to any organisation or individual other than the clearance organisation.
