Not at all! This tour is suitable for beginners. Brief introductory sessions are available if required, however, please note, all participants must be able to swim at least 50m unassisted, float and tread water to join the snorkel.&nbsp;

Join this small group tour&nbsp;of the Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve for&nbsp;the perfect way to discover Sydney&#39;s beautiful and diverse sea life. The protected marine reserve is located in a sheltered bay at Shelly Beach, just minutes from Sydney&#39;s famous Manly Beach.&nbsp;The area is recognised for its diverse wildlife, coastal villages, beautiful walking trails and pristine beaches.

Your experience will be&nbsp;hosted by an Ecotourism Certified guide&nbsp;who is knowledgeable about the local landscape and the creatures who live there. Begin with a headland&nbsp;nature walk led by your&nbsp;guide, who will provide you with information about the native wildlife, terrain, heritage and culture of Sydney and Manly Beach. Enjoy sweeping views over the stunning beaches and coastline, keeping an eye out for many species of coastal birds and migrating whales in the right season (May to November).&nbsp;

After your walk, cool off with a refreshing snorkel&nbsp;in the clear blue waters of Shelly Beach on Sydney&#39;s northern coast.&nbsp;While you snorkel, look out for the 200+ species of fish and other ocean creatures that inhabit the protected aquatic reserve, including the endangered Blue Gropers.

&nbsp;

Wade through the bay&#39;s seagrass meadows and rocky reefs as your qualified guide provides more information on the native flora and fauna. Once done with the tour, you will receive a complimentary&nbsp;photo package&nbsp;of group shots taken by your guide as a keepsake of your precious memories.&nbsp;

If needed, easy introduction lessons are available for first-time snorkellers and buoyancy devices are provided for extra safety.&nbsp;

Departure info

Tour departs from the car park at Manly&#39;s Shelly Beach, at the end of Bower Street.&nbsp;If you are coming from Sydney City, you can catch the Manly ferry from Circular Quay to Manly Wharf. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes and once at Manly Wharf, you will need to walk approximately 20 minutes to Shelly Beach.&nbsp;

This was a fantastic activity! The beach is lovely, and the water was warm and clear. We saw a huge puffer fish, pipe fish, schools of tang, and the wreck while they told us about the beautiful fish and reef. They instructed us on how to dive so that we could swim down to the wreck. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

The crew did an excellent job of making our experience enjoyable, safe, comfortable, and well-organized. We enjoyed and appreciated the local geography and history information. . The trip was well-planned, and the snorkeling was excellent. We counted seven sea turtles. The crew was extremely accommodating and attentive. It was an incredible experience.

Wonderful trip

We had a great time from the moment they put our masks and vests on until we arrived back on land! We were extremely fortunate to see several large fish, a baby sea turtle, a sting ray, and schools of colorful fish. The beach staff was also excited to hear about our sightings.

Good overall experience. The team went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful excursion and located an excellent snorkeling location. The crew and captain were excellent. Although there may have been a few fewer passengers on board, it was still a lot of fun.

Absolutely amazing experience

The staff was courteous, accommodating, and knowledgeable. As you travel to the crater, you can see the entire shoreline in great detail. The crater's water was exceptionally pure and crowded with fish. Great value and great for all ages. Definitely would repeat.
